Maeve is a myotherapist with a passion for working with people to reduce pain and restore movement.

She works with patients from all walks of life with all sorts of pathologies (including nerve impingements, disc injuries, tendonitis, headaches, TMJD, fibromyalgia etc), with a particular interest in the role of the nervous system in chronic pain.

Her interest in working with chronic pain patients has led her pursue further research into pain physiology and its connection to mental health and trauma. She is currently undertaking her third year of a Bachelor of Pyschology at Victoria University.

Maeve works towards restoring balance and mobility in the body by prescribing corrective exercises in order to correct biomechanics and help patients to achieve autonomy of movement.

She draws upon a range of techniques such as myofascial tension technique, trigger point therapy, myofascial dry needling, myofascial dynamic cupping, joint mobilisation, muscle energy technique, assessment and treatment of neural pathways, dermatome needling and manual lymphatic drainage.

Maeve had extensive clinical experience working with athletes, patients with disabilities and the elderly while undertaking clinical placements during her myotherapy studies. Placements include the International AFL, National Institute of Circus Arts, Indigenous Football and Netball Carnival, The Collingwood Wellington Centre and JJVS NGO treatment centre in Udaipur, India.

She also enjoys training in Muay Thai and Yoga, and is currently a volunteer Muay Thai instructor for children.

Maeve fosters a supportive environment to work with people and address their pain, tailoring treatment plans to each individuals needs, and working as a part of an allied health team in order to provide the most holistic approach for each patient.
