Dr. Alicia Cannon

Osteopath

Friday mornings (call to book)

Alicia Cannon (nee Mynott) originally graduated from RMIT University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Movement where she first became interested in and exposed to the field of osteopathy. Alicia then completed the 3-year Undergraduate and 2-year Postgraduate osteopathy qualifications at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia in 2006. Whilst completing her studies Alicia worked for two years as a remedial massage therapist, gaining valuable clinical and hands-on experience in massage therapy. Alicia is fully registered with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a member of the Australian Osteopathic Association (AOA) and Massage Association Australia (MAA).

After several years working in Melbourne, Alicia then moved to Dublin and worked within multiple clinics around the east coast of Ireland. This experience not only exposed Alicia to different styles of osteopathy and a different culture but she also did a lot of travel around Europe.

Alicia has an interest in all types of conditions, in particular patients who have been suffering from neck and low back pain, foot and ankle, shoulder, headaches, repetitive strain injuries and arthritic conditions. Her history as an athlete in state and national competitions for volleyball also gives her first hand appreciation of sports injuries. Alicia employs a wide range of techniques, including soft tissue massage, trigger point therapy, dry needling, mobilization, manipulation and exercise advice, cranial and other indirect techniques with each treatment specifically tailored to your individual needs.

Alicia and her husband David (a chiropractor) finally took the plunge into running their own business in early 2016. They took over the Brunswick Chiropractic Clinic when it was only open 3 days a week, and have continually strived to improve both the services provided as well as with the look and feel of the practice.

When Alicia isn't working she has a keen interest in travel, sport (in particularly supporting her beloved AFL team Melbourne Demons), movies and enjoys sharing all the great restaurants and sights of Melbourne with her friends and family.
